Report of the Project for Establishing an International Design Hub to Address Challenges of the Humanity by Connecting Industry and Academia through Design Studies

Since FY 2018, the Kyushu University Faculty of Design has been carried out the Project for Establishing an International Design Hub to Address Challenges of the Humanity by Connecting Industry and Academia through Design Studies. The purpose of this project is establish an “International hub of design studies” to create innovation in Japan, which aims to transform itself into “the most innovative country in the world”. In March 2022, we published a report describing the five initiatives we have undertaken based on trends in international society and national policies, with the Global Design Network Liaison Office at the core of our activities. This Report provides an overview of our various activities over the past four years. We hope that everyone involved in design and innovation will take advantage of this opportunity.
