Innovation Studio Fukuoka – Connections Shaping the Future of Shopping Districts

This project is a collaboration between the Kyushu University Faculty of Design and the Fukuoka Directive Council (FDC), working together with Design Strategy students to invigorate shopping districts.

The Design Strategy students investigated the issues, tore down established ideas, and found creative openings for shopping district design proposals. A diverse group of locals participated, including those involved with the shopping districts (store owners, authorities), citizens (students, local residents), and experts (business, creative), generating ideas for resolving issues and striving to develop them into achievable and sustainable businesses as a way of bringing innovation to shopping districts.
