Kyushu University & National Cheng Kung University Joint Design Workshop 2020

October 24th, 2020 - March 20th, 2021

A joint design workshop was held online by the School of Design (Graduate School of Design), Kyushu University, and the Department of Planning and Design, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.

The theme of the workshop was “Design for Healthy Cities.” 3 faculty members, 4 graduate students, 1 research student, and 2 undergraduate students from Kyushu University, and 2 faculty members and 5 undergraduate students from National Cheng Kung University participated in the workshop. A mixed team of students from both universities attended a short lecture, conducted a survey, and created personas and user journey maps. Students developed six service design proposals for the elderly in Japan under the following process.

Part 1
October 24, 2020 (Saturday)

The final presentation of six service design proposals for the elderly in Japan

After this year, the School of Design, Kyushu University, will continue to hold joint design workshops in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Design, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, to establish it as a distinctive international collaborative educational program in the Faculty of Art and Design. In addition, by repeating the trials of this workshop, such as the use of online tools, online user surveys, and the implementation of international online lectures and exercises, we believe that we will be able to accumulate know-how related to these issues, which will contribute to future design education and research.
