Summer School at Loughborough University
September 10th to 15th, 2018
A summer school was held at Loughborough University in the UK. Students from Loughborough Universities, the University of Belgrade, Kyushu University, Hiroshima Institute of Technology, and Keio University, participated in the program. The participants from our university were five second-year students in the Environmental Design course at the Faculty of Design.
The summer school was a design and build workshop, including computational design and digital fabrication.
The design task was to install a design pavilion, an Apple shop (a shop selling apples) on the Loughborough campus. The summer class consisted of four-day workshops and a final day for presentation.
For the proposal, other than hand-drawn sketches and model making, the computational design was also included.
The presentations took place on the final day. Each group presented with their large-scale models created using laser cutters.
