K2 Fab Studio is an international cooperative education program carried out in collaboration between Kyushu University, Faculty of Design and South Korea’s KAIST Department of Industrial Design, ID KAIST.
With the theme of Material Circularity, we recapture the circulation of mass consumed materials and propose new approaches toward circularity.
In August 2018, faculty members and students of ID KAIST visited Japan and jointly conducted field research and idea development. Material journey maps were used to explore new values latent in materiality. The subject material was consumed in large quantities in the localities of Fukuoka City, where Kyushu University was located, and in Daejeon City, where KAIST was located, respectively.
