A paradigm shift toward a sustainable society and circular economy society has been called for as a global issue. The Faculty of Design, Kyushu University, has been conducting a joint research project with Re:Public Inc. on “Circular Design of Type for the design of recycling-oriented bases”. Assistant Professor Tokushu Inamura, Assistant Professor Masaaki Iwamoto, and Lecturer Kazuya Saito have been conducting fieldwork with students to deepen their consideration of circular design using bamboo charcoal, bamboo, and ceramics materials. The research results and prototyping presentations were held in Tokyo and online.
