Disaster Design Exhibition 2019 / 20 design proposals for disasters by Japanese and German students

September 26th, 2019 (Thursday)

Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences x Kyushu University

Students from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in Germany and the Kyushu University Faculty of Design jointly worked on a “disaster design” project in the first half of 2019. In this exhibition, it will exhibit 20 student works from both countries. There will also be a gallery talk in which 13 German students and Japanese students will interact with visitors and explain their work.

I hoped that the students from Germany, who experiences lesser disasters, and Japanese students, who have been experiencing more disasters, especially in the recent years, can gather at the Ohashi Campus and interact with each other to create new ideas from a global perspective for future disaster design.
