Exhibition: “Digital Fabrication: by Code, Machine, and Hand”

An exhibition and review were held with comments on the results of the “Digital Fabrication” course, which was born as a temporary course in the fiscal year 2016. The event introduced a combined “thinking with the head” and “thinking with the hands” style of learning by doing through three processes: the production of data through programming, physically realizing data through the use of fabrication tools, and reproducing those forms by hand. The contents of this initiative, in which the smooth handling of all types of data from analog to digital was attempted by taking advantage of the machine workshop, are of great interest to this university as an example of “the humanization of technology.”
