Geiko Golden Jubilee: SDGs Design forum in Kyushu-Let’s make a design that can change society.-

Kyushu University Faculty of Design’s SDGs Design Unit cosponsored a forum with the Center for Designed Futures of Kyushu University and The Nishinippon Shimbun Co., Ltd., Kyushu happiness joint development laboratory (Hakuhodo Incorporated Kyushu Office) which discussed the promotion of UN SDGs (sustainable development goals.)
Fukuoka is a city where the open innovation movement is an active and international exchange of goods, people, money, and information is thriving. In this region, we explored how a sustainable society and economy can be achieved by not only focusing on the SDGs as a philosophy or idea but also by embodying them through “design power” (developing businesses, products, services, stores, buildings, towns, videos, and other tangible content).
We ran a panel discussion in Kyushu University Faculty of Design’s forum focusing on introducing examples of SDG design being put into practice and the vision for the future of companies and municipalities opened up by SDG design.
