Research on the politics and practices of apartment living

Associate Professor Hazel Easthope will discuss her research on private apartment developments. Her research program focuses in particular on how they ways in which private apartments are owned (condominium ownership) influences how they are built, how they are managed, how their residents experience them, and how they can be redeveloped. She will present the findings of a recent research project on the redevelopment of private apartment developments in Australia that has relevance to the work currently being undertaken by colleagues at Kyushu University on the redevelopment of Danchi in Japan.
