December 13th: Open Lecture “Posthuman Architecture – Exploration of TS Studio”

A recent development of information technology and rise of environmental concerns demand us to re-examine our human-centric ideas and to embrace and establish alternative relationship with others that surround us. Architecture that supposed to be catered for people should also engage with animals, plants, air, water, information, things and other beings so that they express their own natures.

The lecture introduced an Architectural Design Thesis produced in TS studio from the National University of Singapore based on the abovementioned theme. Taking architecture as an assembling discipline par excellence, the thesis explored potential assemblages – political, economic, and physical relationships of various things and how people engaged with such assemblages.
