This lecture is about the presentation of the main pedagogical approaches in design fundamentals taught in the four great schools of Design of the 20th Century. Respectively the Bauhaus, the Vhutemas, the Chicago Bau-haus and ﬁnally the Ulm School. For each school, some key examples will illustrate the respective pedagogical approaches. Two tables will summarize the global links between these four schools. The ﬁrst one presenting the pedagogical approach and the second one will emphasize on the links about the persons, correspondences, programmes, meetings, publications and exhibitions. Finally one page will set a global conclusion.
