The Kyushu University Graduate School of Design’s Center for Designed Futures invited Professor Jens Hemmingsen Schovsbo (University of Copenhagen) and Associate Professor Stina Teilmann-Lock (Copenhagen Business School) from Denmark. It held a symposium at Waseda University on January 25th, 2020 (Sat).
Professor Schovsbo talked about “Design Protection in the Nordic countries: Welcome to the smörgåsbord,” and Associate Professor Teilmann-Lock talked about “History and current status of design in Scandinavia.” We clarified the current state of Scandinavian design by having them speak about Scandinavian design protection legislation, which was rarely introduced in Japan, and the position of Scandinavian design from the past to the present.
