Designing for a Society Inclusion Diversity ~Faculty of Design × Division of inclusion~

February 19th, 2020

Disabled people, foreigners, members of the LGBT community, and the elderly, even faculty members and students at colleges are becoming more diverse. However, it does not mean that people have embraced diversity within the framework of society and university.

At this Faculty Development (FD), the Faculty of Design who had been tackling this problem from a design perspective, and Kyushu University Center for Health Sciences and Counseling who had been actively supporting the involved parties and create a favorable environment for the university, had gathered to discuss the current state of this issue, as well as the possibilities for cooperation.

Design refers to the act of (re) designing the framework and concept of thinking and (re) creating things, things, services and social mechanisms. Our approach to design was to think of how we could contribute to creating a society that better embraces diversity from both hard and soft standpoints.
