"Photography and Words" Gender Design Contest

September 30th, 2021

Design Initiative for Diverdity & Inclusion, Faculty of  Design, Kyushu University, established on April 1, 2021, in collaboration with Amicus, the Fukuoka City Gender Equality Promotion Center, was pleased to announce the “Photography and Words” Gender Design Contest.
In this contest, we were looking for expressions that will trigger people to think about gender equality. The works were a collection that uniquely expressed your awareness of the issues with unprecedented ideas. The “gender” that each of you feels in your daily life was expressed through “photographs and words.

This contest was planned in the hope that people understand what Fukuoka City and Kyushu University have to do with gender equality and social inclusion design, and that this will extend to their expression and communication activities. In addition, we will collaborate with Kyushu University’s core education course, “Social Inclusion and Design B,” in the hope that the contest will lead to better development beyond just entering and winning competitions. We hope that those who plan to apply for the competition will take the course to broaden their knowledge and ideas. after the contest is over, We would like to continue to convey the concept of social inclusion design while thinking together with the participants so that it can lead to expressive activities in Fukuoka City and Kyushu University.
