This symposium held by the Kyushu University Faculty of Design is entitled “Crossroads of Design and Digital Fabrication.” Like our predecessor, the Kyushu Institute of Design, while we practice design with the “humanization” of technology as our guiding principle, we will introduce how digital fabrication is performed and perceived through diverse examples, focusing on the work of students who use their hands and mind every day. We also explored how design and digital fabrication overlapped with the two viewpoints of “media art” and “bio.”
