The Social Art Lab held a forum on the theme of “Regeneration of the community through art”
[Project purpose]
From 2015 to 2017, with support from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, “Promotion of Culture and Arts through the Universities Project”, the Social Art Lab has been searching for the ideal way of art management in collaboration with the local communities. As a closure to the project and reflecting the pilot programs done in three years, we will be holding a forum to discuss what art can do for the creative future of the region. In the second half of the forum, we invited Mr Kazu Yanagi and Ms Kyoko Oto to share about the revival from the torrential rain disaster in northern Kyushu in 2017. They are operating the museum “Kyosei no Sato”, a school that was closed in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
