2nd Seminar for the Future of Design x Business x Entrepreneurship: "Traditional Industry x Innovation"

At the Robert Fan/Entrepreneurship Center (Kyushu University, Kyushu University Business School, Kyushu University Faculty of Design), we held the Second Seminar for the Future of Design x Business x Entrepreneurship, “Traditional Industry x Innovation”.

We held a special seminar with limited available places and invited Mr. Rika Yajima. She has created various businesses with artisans from all over Japan to create means to connect tradition to the next generation. In this seminar, Mr. Yajima talked about his thoughts as an entrepreneur regarding “half-a-step-ahead management that benefits everyone” for venture companies, “enrichment which can bring economic and social benefits,” and “ways of thinking about work that can unite the living and working.” He also talked about the future of traditional industries, which face issues passed down to the next generation with themes such as successors, materials, and tools, even while their craftsmanship and elaborate beauty receive global praise. While listening to valuable stories that could only be heard here, you could learn the secrets of how “Design x Business x Entrepreneurship” creates innovation.
