In recent years, the boundaries of design have expanded beyond manufacturing into solutions for services and social issues, as well as the creation of their frameworks. It is essential for good designs to be able to explain their reasons logically, with the scientific understanding of humans and their environments as the foundation.
This annual symposium, which had started last year, explored the scientific possibilities of design through practical examples of the education and research taking place in universities and departments of design in Japan.
